Obituary of Dorothy Auger

Dorothy M. Auger, 82, formerly of Zion, IL, passed away August 26, 2013 at Choice Healthcare in Sun City West, AZ. Dorothy was born May 4, 1931 in Lincoln, Nebraska. She married Arthur Auger on October 27, 1951 and after 62 years, Dorothy had become the anchor of her family and friends. She loved taking care of people, and would do anything for her family. She and Arthur enjoyed camping, especially in Tomahawk, WI. In her free time, she enjoyed catching up with family and friends on the phone and watching her soap operas. Dorothy is survived by her husband Arthur Auger Jr. of Surprise, AZ; children Richard "Rich" (Pam) Auger of Winthrop Harbor, IL, Cheryl (Gary) Ostermiller of Pleasant Prairie, WI, Nancy (Mike) Speek of Fulton MO, and Jeff Auger of Winthrop Harbor, IL; 5 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; sister Shirley Jacobs of Lincoln NE; brothers Dale (Carol) Schmidt of Lincoln NE, Milton Schmidt of Sunnyvale, CA; her favorite aunt Alice Burns; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Henry and Frances Schmidt; sister Norma Rivers; and brother Donald Schmidt. As Dorothy wished, memorial services will be private for the family. Entombment will take place at Mt. Olivet Memorial Park, Zion, IL. Donations to Winthrop Harbor Lions Club would be appreciated.
