Growing up, he was my favorite uncle, married to my Mom's sister Myrt. I have fond memories of Uncle Jim, may he rest in peace.

John Jeffers posted a condolence

My mom is Angeline Jeffers and she is the youngest of Jim's siblings. She always tells stories about her big brother Jim. Jim was 7 years old when Angeline was born and there were many children in the family, so his mother delegated Jim to watch over his baby sister, Angeline. Jim took this responsibility seriously as a 7 year old and kept his promise to his mother for the rest of his life. Jim talked to Angeline almost every day kept watch over my mother for 85+ years.
My mom says Jim kept all the boys away, but he liked my dad. When my dad died 17 years ago, we all went to the cemetery and could not get Angeline to leave, or stop crying. Jim showed up, with authority, and told her she had to stop crying and go home, and just like that he was able to resolve everything in just a few minutes.
I think that my mom's personality was greatly influenced by Jim and that all her children (including me) were blessed to have Jim's values passed through her to me and my sister and brothers.
Jim cared for and loved everyone in his family and we all miss him.
