It will be 7 years this December my son. I can't seem to get past loosing you. It puts a lump in my throat and a tear down my cheek to just look at your picture. I loved you the first moment I saw you on January 11, 1959, and I love you so much to this day. So many things I wish we had talked about. So many times I wish I had been able, somehow, to help you with your sadness. If only...if only.
I miss you terribly.

So take the photographs, and still frames in your mind
Hang it on a shelf in good health and good time
Tattoos of memories and dead skin on trial
For what it's worth it was worth all the while
It's something unpredictable, but in the end it's right.
I hope you had the time of your life.

The first time I saw Rick he was walking Kerry home from Oakdale Elementary, near my neighborhood. He had such a cute, wholesome look to him, as though he just got off the bus from Mayberry. His blond hair was perfectly parted on the side and he was wearing a green windbreaker. He took his role of protective, big brother very seriously as he carefully escorted Kerry home. Further proof of what a protective big brother Rick was: a cute story Judy shared with me. Rick was very fond of his new baby sister, Kim, and he truly believed this was HIS baby. He tried to give her a "bath" with Mennen deodorant and well, the outcome wasn't quite what he expected.
I had the privilege of performing with Rick in the high school play, "6 Rms Riv Vu." What an absolute blast we had with that production!
We will all miss you dearly, Rick.

I was so sorry to read of the death of Mr. Bowsher. We've never met, but I was I wanted to extend my sympathies to the family. Whenever we lose a loved one in death, it is too soon, but when it happens to someone so young, it is particularly sad. My own father also died at an early age, and I know how much I have missed him. I'm sure you have warm and loving memories to comfort you, but please know that the "God of all comfort" (2 Cor. 1:3,4) is there to help and strengthen you during this most difficult time. Sincerely
