Obituary of Ila Eklund

Ila M. Eklund, 93, of Zion, IL, went to be with her Heavenly Father on Wednesday, May 22, 2013, at Vista Medical Center East, Waukegan, IL. Ila was born on December 9, 1919, in Cuba City, WI. She came to Zion around 1940 where she met her soon to be husband, Paul A. Eklund whom she married on New Years Eve in 1942. She was a lifelong active member of Christian Assembly of God Church in Zion. Survivors include her children, Richard (Nancy) Eklund of Jeffersonville, IN, Timothy Eklund of Douglas, Wyoming, Jeffrey (Connie) Eklund of Beach Park and David (Terese) Eklund of Zion; grandchildren, Amy (Caleb), Matthew, Daniel, Beth (Amine), Alexander, Cortney (Mark), Ashley (Brett), Jeffrey, Kristina (Jeff), and Sheena; great-grandchildren, Julien, Nadia, Natalia, Elliot, Scander, Victoria, Ethan, Locke, and Bryn; and siblings, Lorna Hoyt and Joyce Holland; sister-in-law, Glenda Eklund; and sister-in-law and loving caregiver, Dorothy Ostrander. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul A. Eklund; siblings, Marian and Eugene; daughter-in-law, Jennifer Eklund; and her parents, Floyd and Alma Ostrander. A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, May 28, 2013, at 1:00 p.m. at Christian Assembly of God Church, 2929 Bethel Blvd, Zion, with Pastor Ken Fielding, officiating. Memorial donations are suggested to the family.
