Obituary of Doris Solomon

Doris I. "D.I." Solomon, 90, of Beach Park, IL, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, May 21, 2013, at Vista Medical Center East, Waukegan, IL. She was born February 3, 1923, in Barrington, IL, and worked as a registered nurse early in life in Chicago until she married her late husband, H. James Solomon, M.D. Doris was a giving person who loved to entertain and was fond of all animals. Survivors include three children, William (Linda) Solomon of Winthrop Harbor, IL, Sue (Mike) Parrish and David Solomon, both of Beach Park, IL; grandchildren, Michael and Matthew Parrish, Kevin (Bernadette) Kuzelka, and Jessica Kuzelka; two great-grandchildren; and nephews, Mark and Steven Solomon. She was preceded in death by her husband in 2004; and mother, Olga T. Dreyer in 1995. A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, May 23, 2013 at 11:00 a.m at Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Rd., Zion, IL. Entombment will follow at Mt. Olivet Memorial Park, Zion, IL. Friends may greet the family on Thursday from 10:00 a.m until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donation are suggested to PAWS.
