Obituary of Blanche Jester

Blanche Joan Jester, 82, of Zion, went to be with her Lord on April 11, 2013. Blanche was born on March 9, 1931 in Evanston, IL; the youngest of six children born to William John and Judith Marie Meyer. Blanche grew up in Evanston and Antioch. She attended Grass Lake School and Antioch High School. During her teen years she was active in the Lakeside Players in Antioch. On October 20, 1951 she married her husband of sixty-one years, Charles Owen Jester, Sr. They began raising their family in Antioch. In 1968 the family moved to Zion where Blanche became active in the Zion-Benton Athletic Boosters. Blanche enjoyed an active lifestyle; she was a swimmer, golfer, walker and most recently participated in the Zion Park Districts Senior Aerobics class where she made many wonderful friends. Blanche attended Christ Community Church where she was baptized with her two youngest grandsons in 2007. Blanche loved to heart the word of God preached and taught. She is survived by her husband Charles Owen Sr.; her sons Charles (Lynn) Jester Jr., Jim (Leah) Jester, and daughter Judith (Steve) Edwards; grandchildren Charles (Jamee) Jester, III, Christie Piser, Brandon (Christy) Jester, Jasen Jester, Jacob Jester, Reid and Graham Edwards, Craig Goodwin; great-grandchildren AJ, Hailey, Jenna and Julie Jester, Kameron Jester, Joey and Owen Piser, and Kennedie Goodwin. She is also survived by sisters-in-law; brothers-in-law; and many, many nieces and nephews whom she adored. Blanche was preceded in death by her parents, an infant brother, her siblings and their spouses, Frances "Sissy" (Frank) Wieczorek, Arthur (Bette) Meyer, Elizabeth (Donald) MacDonald, William (Elizabeth Jane) Meyer, and her beautiful niece Barbara (Jay) Forman. Blanche will forever be known and remembered as beloved wife, cherished mother, adored grandmother and great-grandmother, revered aunt and matriarch. We love you. A visitation will be held on Saturday, April 20, 2013 from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m. at Christ Community Church, 2500 Dowie Memeorial Drive, Zion, IL. A memorial service will follow at 4:00 p.m. with Pastor Jon Wiziarde officiating.
