Obituary of Lloyd Ohare

Lloyd E. Ohare, 80, of Norfolk, Nebraska died Saturday, April 6, 2013, at Heritage of Bel Air. He was born July 16, 1932, in Waukegan, to Leo and Dora (Stewart) Ohare. He graduated from Waukegan Township High School. Lloyd married Elsie M. Carroll Nov. 27, 1954, in Waukegan. He served in the U.S. Army. After Lloyd returned from the Army, he and Elsie were married in Waukegan, and Lloyd worked for Geyseler Sheet Metal. Later Lloyd went to work for Goodyear Tire and Rubber in Chicago, Ill. While working at Goodyear Tire and Rubber, Lloyd decided to transfer to Topeka, Kansas, for a short time and then later transferred to Norfolk. He worked for Goodyear for 38 years. Lloyd loved spending time going to his grandchildren's activities and fishing. He also enjoyed sports and especially Chicago Cubs baseball. He was a member of VFW. Survivors include wife Elsie Ohare of Norfolk; son Edward and wife Maria of Norfolk; two daughters, Kathy and husband Robert Zimmerman of Zion, Ill., Linda and husband Al Hallgren of Antioch, Ill.; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by parents, daughter Susan Brock, brother Larry Ohare. A visitation also will be held from 10:30 until 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 13, 2013 at Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion, IL, interment will follow at Northshore Garden of Memories, North Chicago, IL.
