Please accept my sympathy, during this difficult time always remember to rely on the God of all comfort mentioned at 2 Corinthians 1:3&4 who comforts us in all our tribulation. Draw close to him in prayer and he will sustain you.(Psalm 55:22)

My condolences to the family of Susie. Susie and I worked together many years at Victory in the ER. She was my guardian angel, she was my protector. I learned so much from her. You could always count on her. I have thought of her often in my career and will miss her. We were blessed to have her in our lives for as long as we could.

I treasure my last visit with Susie when she was receiving such devoted care from Deb and Terry. Susie was a sweet, pretty little gal, and I am privileged to have made her acquaintance – the mother of my great friend, Deb, Deb's sister Tracy and Tracy's daughter Taylor.

Although I never had the pleasure of meeting Susie, her obituary speaks of a strong woman with a fulfilling career and family. She raised a strong, independent woman in Deb and I feel fortunate to be able to call her my friend. Susie can rest easily in the knowledge that her legacy is carried on in the people she nurtured and raised. Best, Sonya

My mom and Susie were friends for many years, sharing the love of nursing. Mom (Yvonne) would get together for coffee with Elaine Drexel and Susie. She was a very special lady and I'm sure will be missed by many. Virtual hugs to the family, knowing she is laughing it up in Heaven with Yvonne and watching as an angel over her family and friends.

Deb and Terry, and Tracy and Taylor - please accept my deepest sympathies on the passing of your mother and grandmother. I feel fortunate that I had the chance to meet Susie several times over the years, and she was a wonderful strong woman. She was blessed to have such an incredible family to stand by her and support her these last few months. I know how much she was loved and will be missed. Thinking of you all - Love, Karen

My dearest Susie, My friend, my mentor and my confidant. I was so lucky to have met you as a new volunteer at Victory Hospital. Our friendship was not of the usual sort as we so often used to say. It was remarkable that we remained friends for so long, 38 years. We often laughed about this and always realized how fortunate we were to have found each other. We supported each other through the years, learned from each other and learned to teach others. I could always count on you as so many others learned to do. You taught new nurses, our EMS students, our EMS providers and in many cases a ED doctor and even our private physicians. When doctors came to the ED to see their patients, they asked for you by name. You mentored, you taught and you solidified the relationship between the ED staff and our EMS providers. I will miss your sincerity, your opinions and your bare honesty that often challenged me and made me consider so many different sides of every issue. I will miss our many three hour conversations as we discussed the political arena, challenged each others views, talked about the state of healthcare and worked our way through each other's personal trials and tribulations. We often did not agree on issues but we discussed our opinions freely and openly. It was always a hearty discussion, often filled with questions, quite a bit of pondering and always, always a lot of laughter. It was remarkable that our age difference did not matter and our wonderment of how God put us together always filled the hours. I appreciated that you always stood for something. This life lesson served me well throughout my life. I will miss our talks, your laugh and your common sense. Through it all, no matter where the conversation took us, we always, always finished every conversation by simply saying "I love you." I cherished that ending of the conversation every time we talked. So in parting my friend, I will simply say thank you for being my friend, thank you for giving me so many life lessons and thank you for understanding. "I love you."
