This world could use a few million more like Jack . even just a few would would make it a better place and the loss of Jack leaves us with such a sense of loss. The saying "the good die young" seems to fit so.. but such thoughts are selfish .. I should try to imagine his smile as he hears the words "Well done, Good and Faithfull Servant"!

Like Terry said, 60 years is a longtime to know someone. I lost touch with Jack after high school, but we reconnected about 20 years ago. Since then we have been in regular communication, mostly by email but also long phone conversations. We shared an interest in Eastern culture and religions. I valued his perspective and passion for current world events and politics. Jack made the world a better place. I am going to miss him. codygsp@woh.rr.com

My memories are many...going to each other's houses with our parents as kids. Camping at Castle Rock Flowage. Talking for hours about anything to do with life. Walking home from High School most days. Discovering Jack's step-mother was going to be mine. May God hold you in his love and care.
We commend you to God's love and peace. May God keep you in His Nearer Presence. Rest in Peace my friend and Cousin.

Back when we were in college, Jack sent me a letter that I still read every now and then. He said he was writing from his favorite letter-writing place, a hot bathtub, and was going to do an experiment for one of his English classes.
The letter was hand-written, and twenty-six pages long. The experiment? The entire letter was one long, grammatically correct sentence, no periods!

Jack was a kind, intelligent and very nice man. I remember well our mutual affiliation with DeMolay in Millburn, IL many years ago and I greatly valued his friendship and kindness. May you rest in peace Jack.

Somehow the world now does not seem the same without Jack in it. We will remember Jack as a sweet and gentle spirit, intelligent in thought and kind with his words. He possessed patience for the special education students he taught. Jack's fondness and compassion for his pets was only surpassed by the love and devotion he had for his dear wife Mary. We will miss the golf games we played and the dinners we shared. Jack may you rest in peace and go with God.

Jack is an essential part of my childhood memories--the Elizabeth Avenue neighborhood fun, East School, Sunday School and church, the Passion Play--and I can think back to those days like they were yesterday. I am sad that Jack's life was so tragically cut short, but I am happy that he lived such a meaningful, fulfilled life.

Sixty years is a long time to know someone, but it still seems not quite long enough. The shared pictures are the only ones I have with me while on assignment in Houston. My sincere regrets on missing the service.

Mary and Family. What a shock to hear this sad news. Jack was a life-long friend. We met in Jr. High and went all the way to Greenville College together. Though we did not see each other often in our adult life when our paths would cross it was just like we saw each other yesterday. This world has lost a great guy.
