Obituary of Kevin Wates

Kevin Wates, 21, of Zion, Illinois, passed away February 20, 2013 at Midwestern Regional Medical Center in Zion. Kevin was born March 18, 1991 in Highland Park, Illinois. He is a graduate of Laremont School in Gages Lake. He loved to cheer on the Chicago Bulls with his dad. Kevin was most content when camping with his family at Happy Acres and Plymoth Rock Campgrounds, and vacationing at Disney in Florida. Kevin also enjoyed listening to music. Kevin is survived by his Mother and Father Tracy and Doug Amann; one sister Jessica; two brothers Doug Jr. And Mathew; two grandfathers Otto Amann, and Steve (Pat) Wates; two grandmothers Terri (Joe) Wates, and Pam Simons; three great-grandmothers Agnes Wates, Betty Ketcham, and Eleanor Amann; special second cousin Kim Ladewig; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. The family wishes to thank all of his nurses who cared for him over the years. He was preceded in death by his grandfather John Simons; great-grandfather Hurshell Wates; and great-grandmother Margaret Neeve. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 27, 2013 from 2:00 until 3:00 p.m. at Christ Community Church, 3500 Dowie Memorial Drive, Zion. A Memorial Service will follow at 3:00 p.m., with Pastor Jon Wiziarde, officiating. Interment will be private for the family.
