Obituary of Eugene Cheney

Eugene R. "Gene" Cheney, 64, of Beach Park, IL, died on February 15, 2013, at Vista Medical Center East, Waukegan, IL. Gene was born October 12, 1948, in Grand Rapids, MN. He served with the United States Army for 8 years and was a veteran of the Viet Nam War. Gene married Dyann Trulove in April of 1993. He was retired from the Illinois State Highway Authority where he was employed for about 25 years. Gene loved to fish and was a talented car mechanic. Survivors include his wife, Dyann; son, Eric (Mary) Cheney of Ft. Hood, TX; step-son, Chris Corley of Milwaukee, WI; grandson, Connor Corley; sister, Donna (Bill) Baron of Markham, IL; brother, David (Jane) Cheney of Winthrop Harbor, IL; sisters, Bobbi (Joe) Weber of St. Paul, MN, and Teddie (Tim) Ackert of Coventry, CT. Also surviving are nieces and nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Gloria Cheney; and sister, Kathy. Services are private for the family.
