I was so sad to hear about Aunt Sylvia's death. On behalf of my late husband Ed, as well as myself, I send each of you my heartfelt sympathy. Ed would often tell fond stories from when he was growing up with his wonderful, fun loving, and always caring, Aunt Sylvia. As for myself, I also have only good memories. I met Aunt Sylvia back in 1966, when I was a teenager. She immediately welcomed me into the family, making me feel so comfortable. Over the years, we kept in contact with her as much as possible. We always anticipated her letters & greeting cards. The many little things she did for us during those early years, along with our visits later on, meant so much to us. Aunt Sylvia once told us if we ever needed anything,to just give her a call. I will never forget these kind, loving words she said to Ed and myself. I will always remember Aunt Sylvia. You are in my thoughts & prayers during this difficult time. May God Bless you and yours! On a personal note; I would like to thank each of you for your sympathy during Ed's cancer, and eventual death. The words you wrote to myself were truly a great comfort to me. Affectionately, Carol Stritar

I have always loved Aunt Sylvia. What a great aunt she was. She always was a part of every family gathering, visited us in the country (Lake Villa) frequently, and was a joy to visit. When I was little, she made cookies one day in her kitchen in Waukegan (or N. Chicago?) with the snowflake shaped iron dipped in batter, then deep fried. I never did that, but they sure were good. She took me to Ft. Wayne on the train. A one-time event in my young life. I'm still not a good traveller, but that was an adventure. I am glad that Aunt Sylvia is not tied to her broken body any longer, and has been welcomed with open arms by her sisters and other family who have gone before her.

I have so many great memories of Aunt Sylvia. She was always there for her extended family. I cherish the time she spent with us kids at our home in Lake Villa playing badminton with us. She took my siblings and me on many great excursions including taking the train to Chicago to see the Christmas displays, my first real train ride to Fort Wayne, and many other places. She always had time for us. I will really miss her but have many fond memories to cherish.
