Obituary of James Davis
James Lawrence Davis, 84, of Wadsworth, Illinois, passed away after an extended illness on Monday, January 7, 2008 at Aurora Medical Center in Kenosha, Wisconsin.
James was born December 28, 1923 in Tremont, Mississippi. He served with the United States Army from 1944 to 1947 and with the United States Navy from 1947 to 1950. He was employed at Johns-Manville Corporation Waukegan plant from 1942 to 1944 and left to serve in the military. He was rehired in 1950 in the Brake Block Quality Control Department. In 1952 he transferred to the Transite Pipe Department and in 1967 was promoted to Molding Foreman. In 1974 he was promoted to General Foreman, Transite Pipe Finishing.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Sue (nee Wilson) Davis; two daughters Deborah Davis (Terry) Condron of Eagle, Wisconsin and Tracy Dawn Davis Congdon of Kenosha, Wisconsin and her daughter, his granddaughter, Taylor; brothers Bob, Bill and Buster; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his sisters Mildred, Melrose, Jennie and Madgie; and his parents Lorenzo Dow Davis and Edna Cumi Weeks Davis.
Funeral services will be private for the family. The CONGDON FUNERAL HOME, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion, serving the family.
