Obituary of Opal Snow

Opal M. Snow, 84, of Zion, IL passed away on Friday, January 11, 2013. She was born July 12, 1928 in Marion County, AL and moved to Zion in 1947 and went to work for Abbott Laboratories in North Chicago. Later she owned and operated Weaver-Snow Real Estate in Zion and she retired from Illinois State Scholarship Commission. She was a member of Lakeside Community Church of Zion. Survivors include her son Gregory (Brenda) Snow of Carmel, IN; and two grandchildren Jacqueline (Fiancé Daniel Arking) Snow of Bethesda, MD and Jordan Snow of Carmel, IN. She was preceded in death by her husband Murl in 2000; her infant daughter Lisa Roxanne Snow; one grandson Gregory Benning Snow; and her father and mother Claude and Lela Sanderson. Visitation will be Tuesday, January 15, 2013, from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at the CONGDON FUNERAL HOME, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion. A funeral service will follow at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Clarence Berry and Rev. John Davis officiating. Interment will be on Wednesday, January 16th, at 10:30 a.m. at Mt. Olivet Memorial Park, Zion. Memorial donations to Lakeside Community Church, 1801 Hermon Avenue, Zion, IL 60099 have been suggested.
