Obituary of Ralph Anselm
Ralph Joseph Anselm, 94, a resident of Rolling Hills Place in Zion, and long time Waukegan resident, died on Tuesday, January 8, 2013 at Vista Medical Center, Waukegan, IL.
He was born February 10, 1918 to Pearl and Albert Anselm in Detroit, MI, and was raised in Lake Bluff, IL. He was the sixth of seven children and the last survivor in his family. He attended high school in Deerfield and Lake Forest. He married Helen Landis on February 25, 1940 and was married for 44 years until her death in February of 1985. Ralph worked as a machinist at American Can Co. and as a tool and die machinist and tool inspector for Fansteel. Ralph recently remarked, "I've had a good life, and I have no regrets."
Survivors include children Michael (Lillian) Anselm of The Villages, FL, Jack (Pamela) Anselm of Burlington, WI, and Sharon (Robert) Kelly of Houston, TX; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Friday, January 11, 2013, from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the CONGDON FUNERAL HOME, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion. There will be no services. Private interment will be later at Ascension Cemetery, Libertyville. Memorial donations to a charity of your choice has been suggested.
