Obituary of Teresa Ford

Teresa Jo Ford, 54, of Winthrop Harbor, passed away peacefully at home on December 31, 2012. Teresa was born January 16, 1958 in Red Bay, Alabama. She graduated from Zion-Benton Township High School in 1976. She married Eric Stephen Ford on June 7, 1975 in Zion. They enjoyed 32 years of happiness before his death in 2007. Teresa was recently blessed with two grandchildren in July of this year. She enjoyed nothing more than the time she spent with them. She also enjoyed traveling to Vegas and playing bingo with her close friend Rose. Survivors include her son Vern (Maggie) Ford; grandchildren Ryan Charles Ford and Adalynn May Ford; mother Shirley Mink; brother James (Sandy) Mink; sister Renae (Cuco) Figueroa; sister-in-law Erin Turner; niece Diana Figueroa; nephews Daniel Figueroa, Jody Walker, and Austin Mink; her beloved dog Kimber; and her second family at Aurora Healthcare (formerly Zion Clinic). Teresa was preceded in death by her dear husband Eric Stephen Ford; and her beloved father Charles Edward Mink. Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 6, 2013 from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. at the Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion. A funeral service will be held on Monday, January 7, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. John Davis officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Memorial Park, Zion.
