Obituary of Joseph Angelos
Joseph R. Angelos, Sr., 92, of Waukegan, IL, died on Monday, December 3, 2007 at Sheridan Health Care Center in Zion.
Joseph was born March 13, 1915 in Milwaukee, WI, and married Josephine Banick on May 11, 1940, at Mother of God Church in Waukegan. He was a member of Queen of Peace Church and very active in St. Mary's Lodge #75 in Waukegan for 74 years. Joseph retired from Johns-Manville in 1972 after 42 years of employment. He was Past President of the Lake County Bowlers Association and loved playing horseshoes.
Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Josephine; sons, Larry Angelos of Waukegan and Joe (Patricia) Angelos Jr. of Pleasant Prairie, WI; grandchildren, Larry Angelos Jr., Phil Angelos, and Ann McCain; and great-grandchildren, Rudy, John, Vickie, Zachary, and Luke.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Kathleen Angelos; brother, Frank; sister, Helen; grandson, Joseph Angelos III; and daughter-in-law, Eilie Angelos.
A Visitation will be held on Friday, December 7, 2007 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Rd., Zion. Private entombment will be Saturday, December 8, 2007 at Ascecsion Cemetery, Libertyville.
