Obituary of Joseph Sabo

Joseph F. Sabo, 92, of Zion, died on Monday, November 19, 2007, at Arbor View Nursing Home in Zion. Joseph was born October 14, 1915, in Chicago, IL, and was a decorated United States Army Veteran of World War II, serving in the Asiatic-Pacific Theater. He was retired from Fansteel Corporation in North Chicago. He was a member of Our Lady of Humility Church in Beach Park, the Knights of Columbus #731 of Waukegan, and the Zion-Benton Moose Lodge #667. Joseph was an avid fisherman and enjoyed playing bingo. Survivors include daughter, Patricia (Lyle) Ianson of Zion; son, Donald (Rosemary) Cole of Waukegan, IL; eleven grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-granchhildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Mildred; and other family members. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, November 24, 2007, at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Humility Church, 10655 W. Wadsworth Rd., Beach Park. Interment will follow at Ascension Cemetery, Libertyville, IL. Visitation will be Friday, November 23, from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Rd., Zion, IL
