Obituary of Ellen Miller

Ellen Miller, 89, of Zion, Illinois, beloved wife of the late Rev. Charles E. Miller, died following a long illness on Wednesday, October 17, 2007, at home surrounded by her family. She was born April 14, 1918 in Roanfork, Kentucky and came to this area in 1963. She was an active member of Spirit of Life Pentecostal Church of Zion. Survivors include her two children Pastor Phyllis Miller of Beach Park and Charles (Doris) Miller Jr. of Zion; four grandchildren Scott (Charlene) Miller of Beach Park, Illinois, Gregory Miller of Gurnee, Illinois, Tammy (Paul) Sharrett of Zion, Illinois and Christine Brown of Beach Park, Illinois; ten great-grandchildren Ashley, Alexis and Chase Miller, Brandon and Gregory Miller II, Justin and Falon Provance Miller, and Adam, Charles and Nathan Sharrett; four sisters Florence Brown of Gurnee, Illinois, Mary Norvell of Zion, Illinois, Carla Gross of North Chicago, Illinois and Glenna (Joe) Miller of Kenosha, Wisconsin; two brothers Bill Grubbs of Waukegan, Illinois and Philbert (Virginia) Grubbs of Gurnee, Illinois; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Rev. Charles E. Miller in 1991; her parents Allen and Mary (nee Carnes) Grubbs; her step-mother Bessie (nee Fry) Grubbs; and by three brothers and by one sister. Visitation will be Saturday, October 20, 2007, from 11:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. at Spirit of Life Pentecostal Church, 1222 Lorelei Drive, Zion, Illinois. Funeral services will be held at the Church at 3:00 p.m., Pastor David Hansel of Columbia, Kentucky and Bro. Mark Granger of Racine, Wisconsin, officiating. Interment will be Monday, October 22nd, at Blanche Cemetery, Arjay, Kentucky, following a funeral service at 3:00 p.m. at Arnett & Steele Funeral Home in Pineville, Kentucky, with Pastors John W. and Mary Autry of Carbon Hill, Alabama, officiating. Visitation there will be from 11:00 a.m. until time of services.
