My deepest condolences go out to my family. My aunt and friend will always be in my thoughts and prayers. My aunt truely loved life and lived each day norturing those she touched on a daily basis w/ compassion, care and wisdom. as a child I can recall whispering in her ear that she was the best aunt anyone could have. My aunt was genuine and her mere presence could light -up a room. I cared for her when she began to get ill. She nevered complained and always, fought back, many times winning the battle, while facing the challenges god had for her. She loved children and even at her weakest moment would struggle to catch a glince to see the childs face. Children naturally gravitated to her because she had tht affect. Her family meant the world to her.I give thanks to my lord for giving the time w/ my aunt and the wonderfull memories we shared. we are all given a mission in life, my aunt surpassed her goal and nw reaps its reward in heaven. Thanx Tia for the laughs, thx for the family history you spoke about but, most of all thx for being you.. I will always remember you, your grin and good humor...your Nephew and freind Juan Martinez

As one of her favorite nieces...and one of my favorite tias my heart goes out to my family. I will always remember tia Lucila with her cigarette hanging from the corner of her mouth while talking or sewing. She is the only women that I've seen that could do that. We were blessed to have such a caring and beautiful aunt. An aunt that gave me many advices including my favorite advice, when at the time I was dating my now husband "Mira mija, de aqui para ariba todo, pero de aqui para abajo nada". Referring that from the neck up you can do whatever you desire, but from the neck down thats a no, no. I always thought of her (but never said anything to her, cause I'm sure she would slap the __ out of me)as machine gun Lucy. Cause when she got mad and couldn't get her words out straight it was like she had a machine gun vocabulary, que, que, que,. She was funny and loving woman, bringing back memories of back in the days when she, tia Pepa and my mom would get together and have a 3-woman party. Having a great time. But most of all I will love her more now in her passing then I did when we were blessed with her presence. Love you tia "Machine gun Lucy".
