Obituary of Delores Zwicke

Delores L. Zwicke, 63, of Beach Park, Illinois, died on Saturday, September 1, 2007 at home following a long battle with cancer. Delores was born May 24, 1944 in Zion and lived her early years on the farm in Wisconsin before returning to Zion. She was an active member of Redeemer Lutheran Church of Waukegan. She worked at Jamaican Gardens in Libertyville for the past 15 years and prior to that sold real estate for Knox Realty in Zion. Delores enjoyed flowers, plants, gardening and was especially fond of Bonsai plants and Orchids. Survivors include her husband of 34 years, Kenneth; children Michael Zwicke of Beach Park, Daniel (Diane) Zwicke of Waukegan and David Zwicke of Grayslake; her father William J. Gaddis of Beach Park; and one sister Maria (Ron) Ewing of Beach Park. She was preceded in death by her mother Louise Gaddis in 1980; and one brother Larry Gaddis. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 6, 2007, at 11:00 a.m. at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 620 Grove Avenue, Waukegan, with Pastor Wayne Jahn officiating and private cremation to follow. Visitations will be held on Wednesday, September 5th, from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion, and on Thursday morning from 10:00 a.m. until time of services, 11:00 a.m., at Redeemer Lutheran Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Redeemer Lutheran Church has been suggested.
