Obituary of Lonn Shapiro

Lonn M. Shapiro, 57, of Waukegan, died on Friday, August 24, 2007, after a valiant fight with a long illness. Lonn was born May 13, 1950, and graduated from Western Illinois University with a Bachelors Degree in Agronomy. He married Julie Schweppe on December 27, 1986, in Villa Park, IL. Lonn was a volunteer for St. Anastasia's (Waukegan) Boy Scout Troop #16 where he served as "Woodchuck". He was a beloved husband, father, son, brother, and uncle. He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Julie; children, Lawrence and Bethany Shapiro; father and mother, Lawrence and Sadell Shapiro of Evanston, IL; sister, Marla Shapiro of Chicago; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Walter and Dolores Schweppe of Gurnee, IL; brother-in-law, Pastor David (Lynne) Schweppe of Sterling, IL; nephews, Jon and Jacob Schweppe; and a niece, Kristen Schweppe. A Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, August 29, 2007 at 1 PM at CONGDON FUNERAL HOME, 3012 Sheridan Rd., Zion. Interment will follow at Northshore Garden of Memories, North Chicago. Friends may great the family on Wednesday, from 11 AM until the time of services at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested to the American Diabetes Association, P.O.
