Obituary of Mary Allen

Mary Catherine Vondenbosch Allen, 88, of Wadsworth, Illinois, died at Vista Medical Center in Waukegan, Illinois on August 21, 2007 after a long illness. She was born in Altamont, Illinois on July 20, 1919, the youngest child of the late Peter P. and Catherine (Zacha) Vondenbosch. She was married to the late Paul Edward Allen in 1944 and was a secretary, typist and receptionist for various lawyers, accountants and Universities in Illinois, Indiana and Florida. She is survived by a daughter Marita "Rita" (Daniel J.) Fuesting; 2 sisters, Mildred Buff and Clara Thies both of Effingham, Illinois; four grandchildren Shannon (Mike) Tatro of Wadsworth, Allen (Paula) Fuesting of Antioch, Jedidia Fuesting of St. Petersburg, Florida, and Lydia (Majed) Bejaoui; four great grandchildren Alexander and Julia Bejaoui, Ariana and Caleb Tatro, and two more due in October; four step grandchildren Erica, Michelle, Christina, Mike Jr Tatro and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by one brother and his wife Albert and Mildred Vondenbosch; three sisters Pauline and her husband Bert McDevitt, Edna and her husband Anton Negri, Ella and her husband Charles Donnelly; two brothers-in-law Bill Thies and John Buff; and five nephews. A memorial visitation will be held Monday August 27, 2007 from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Rd. Zion. Also, a memorial mass will be held Thursday, August 30, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Effingham, Illinois. Interment will take place in Hialeah, Florida at a later date.
