Obituary of Cynthia DePuy

Cynthia "Cindy" E. DePuy,51, of Zion, IL, formerly of Prospect Heights, IL, died on Tuesday, August 7, 2007, at Evanston Hospital in Evanston. Cindy was born July 25, 1956, in Chicago, IL. She graduated from the Wheaton Christian Academy in 1974, and Trinity International University in 1978. Cindy married Robert DePuy on April 9, 1979, in Deerfield, IL. She was formerly employed as a journalist for North Suburban Newspapers, and then worked as a teacher's aid for District 6 in Zion. Cindy was a member of Lakeview Church in Zion. She was a loving wife, beloved daughter and sister, a wonderful mother, and a devoted friend. Cindy was diagnosed with cancer in November of 2004 and fought the good fight until her homegoing. Survivors include her husband of 28 years, Robert; children, Rebekah (Derek) Clark of Macomb, IL, Rachel (fiancé Kevin Perrine) DePuy of Moline, IL, and Deborah DePuy of Zion, IL; father and mother, Donald and Patricia Volz of Pentwater, MI; brother, Howard (Elaine) Volz of Spring, Texas; mother-in-law, Wilma DePuy of Lafayette, MN; brothers-in-law, John (Roberta) DePuy and Curtis (Janet) DePuy; sister-in-law, Sara (Edward) Fazio; and three nephews and eight nieces. She was preceded in death by her father-in-law, Philip DePuy. A Visitation will be held on Friday, August 10, 2007, from 6:00-9:00 p.m. at Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Rd., Zion. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, August 11, 2007, at 11:00 a.m. at Lakeview Church, 1821 Sheridan Rd., Zion, with Pastor Les Martin, officiating. Interment is private for the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Children's Evangelism Fellowship, 2711 Sheridan Rd. Zion, IL.
