Obituary of Harold Jasper

Harold E. Jasper Sr., 88, of Bayonet Point, Florida died June 6, 2007 under the care of his family at home. Harold was born October 4, 1918 in Winthrop Harbor, and moved to Florida in 1978. He was an Army Air Force veteran of World War II and a recipient of the Soldier's Medal. He was a master carpenter by trade. Harold was one of the founders of the Winthrop Harbor Garrett Langvad American Legion Post. He was a member of the Gulfview Grace Brethren Church of Port Richey, Florida. Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Lois Betty; one son Harold E. Jasper II of Winthrop Harbor; two daughters Karen Combs of North Carolina, and JoAnne Lubkeman of Antioch; one sister Eleanore Leech of Sarasota, Florida; two brothers Robert Jasper of Winthrop Harbor, and David Jasper of Texas; seven grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held Monday June 25, 2007 at 7:00 p.m. at Lakeview Church, 1821 Sheridan Rd. Zion. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Missionary Fund of Lakeview Church.
