Mrs. Franks was an amazing woman and my favorite teacher. I was fortunate to have her as my 3rd grade teacher at Elmwood. I remember that candy drawer...especially the swirly suckers! She always helped us to strive for our best and had a gift for keeping even the rowdiest kids in line. I went to Georgia with her and her family to watch her grandkids for 2 weeks one summer. What a fun trip that was! I was honored and blessed to have been a part of the Franks family that summer. While I lived in Zion, I worked at Rooks Restaurant, where I had the pleasure of waiting on Regina in the mornings before her classes. It was always a special treat when Regina and Mrs. Franks - and sometimes Mr. Franks - would come to the restaurant together! That made my day! I am so sorry to hear of her illness and passing. I am out of state now in Albuquerque, NM, but my mom let me know. I wish I could be there to pay my respects. My thoughts and prayers are with you all. God Bless women like Virginia Franks. ELizabeth Hunter (Beth Robinson)
