Obituary of Lena Plapp

Lena Plapp, 99, of Winthrop Harbor, IL, formerly of Elkhorn, WI, and Broadview, IL, died on Sunday, April 29, 2007, at Vista Medical Center East in Waukegan, IL. Lena was born September 29, 1907 in Malta, IL and married Phillip Plapp on June 24, 1931 in Malta. She was a member of Lamb of God Lutheran Church in Pleasant Prairie, WI. Lena enjoyed being surrounded by her loving family. She is survived by a daughter, Janis (Ronald) Coan of Tampa, FL; son, Paul (Martha) Plapp of Winthrop Harbor, IL ;grandchildren, Karen, Sue, Patti, David, Rob, Sharon, Dorothy, Peter, Katherine, and Elizabeth; 17 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Phillip in 1988; father and mother Enoch and Francis Moland; son, James Plapp; daughter, Phyllis Calbert; sisters, Sophie Male and Marion Anderson; brothers, Omil Stokke and Ted Moland, and grandson, James Plapp Jr. A Funeral Service will be held Friday, May 4, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. at Lamb of God Lutheran Church, 8411 Old Green Bay Rd., Pleasant Prairie, WI, with Rev. John Berg officiating. Interment will follow at Chapel Hills Garden West, Oakbrook Terrace, IL. Visitation will be Friday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Lamb of God Lutheran Church in her memory would be appreciated.The family thanks the staff of Rolling Hills Manor Nursing Home in Zion, IL, for the loving care they gave to Lena.
