Obituary of Brice Rogers

Brice Rogers,73, of Zion, IL, formerly of Fulton, MS, died on Friday, March 9, 2007, at Vista Medical Center East, Waukegan. Brice grew up in Itawamba County, MS. Shortly after his marriage to Jewell Duncan; they moved to Zion and raised three children, where he began his career in the construction field. After working as a union carpenter for many years, he formed his own concrete construction business, which he owned and operated until his retirement. Brice is survived by his daughters, Teresa (Frank) Emerson of Seymour, IN and Tina (William Jr.) Nikkila of Zion, IL; his son, Brice (Sherry) Rogers Jr. of Beach Park, IL; 7 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild; brother, Fred Rogers of Waukegan, IL; sisters, Pauline Roberts of Wadsworth , IL, Varlee (Robert) Harrison of Antioch, IL, and Cathy Ann Vick of Spokane, WA. He is further survived by his ex-wife, Jewell Rogers of Zion; and many nieces ,nephews, other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Leo and Carrie Rogers; brother, Jimmy; sister, Eva Gean, brother-in-law, Hollis Roberts; infant granddaughter, Jennifer Nikkila; and nephew, Ron Roberts. Relatives and friends are welcome at the Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Rd., Zion, on Tuesday, March 13, from 7:00-8:00p.m., followed by a funeral service with Pastor John Davis of Lakeside Community Church of Zion, IL officiating. A graveside service will be held at Butler Cemetery, Belmont, MS, on March 15 at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the family are appreciated.
