Obituary of Betty Spiller

Betty Jo "Grandma" Spiller of Beach Park, Illinois, died on Friday, February 16, 2007 at Condell Hospital in Libertyville. She was born in Brilliant, Alabama and moved to Waukegan in 1960. She was a life long member of the Waukegan Church of God and has been attending the Zion Church of God since 1993. She was a member of the Golden Girls and was an avid family person who loved the Lord. Survivors include her two sons Phil (Betty) Spiller of Winthrop Harbor and Hootie (Gayle) Spiller of Beach Park; grandchildren Rodney (Jennifer) Johnson, Daryle (Joy) Spiller, Christi (Christopher) Kana, Susan Spiller, David Spiller and Shaine (Natalie) Spiller; ten great-grandchildren; two sisters Mammie Mae Frost of Louisiana and Patsy Pauline Hinshaw of Hinsdale, Illinois; close and dear friends Max and Betty Johnson of Wadsworth; and a host of friends and relatives. She was preceded in death by her husband James Romey Spiller in 1982; her grandson Dewayne Spiller in 2003; and her parents Hubert and Eula (nee Harris) Mann. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 20, 2007, at 10:00 a.m. at the Zion Church of God, 2700 Eshcol Avenue, Zion, with Pastor Dan Hanners officiating. Interment will follow at Pineview Memorial Park, Beach Park. Visitations will be held on Monday, February 19th, from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m. at the Church and again on Tuesday, February 20th, from 9:00 a.m. until time of services at the Church.
