Obituary of Philip Mayfield

Philip Allen Mayfield, of Beach Park, Illinois passed away April 24, 2024. He was born May 18, 1946 in Waukegan, Illinois to parents Christine and Cybil Mayfield.

Phil has an associates degree in Food Management, he attended St. Patrick Church in Wadsworth, Illinois, and he retired as a tool and die maker from Amco Company. Phil enjoyed woodworking, fishing, boating, Drumcorp, and making a family recipe of fudge during the holidays for his family and friends. Phil was proud to serve in the United States Coast Guard from October of 1965 to October of 1969 during the peak of the Vietnam War.

Phil is survived by his wife, Elizabeth (Liz) A. Mayfield; step-daughter, Christina (Lee) Rosenburg; step-granddaughters, Jordan and Casey Rosenburg; sister, Helen Atik;  nephews Jeff (Susie) Atik, Ron (Ulrike) Atik, Paul (Brenda) Mayfield,  nieces, Leslie (Bob) Atik Preucel, and Wendy White; numerous sisters and brother-in-laws,  and friends, along with his trusted dog, Sophie Mae.

Phil was preceded in death by his parents, Christine and Cybil Mayfield; sister, Louise Mayfield; brother, Thomas Mayfield; step-daughter, Jennifer Duch; and brother-in-law, M. Atik.

Services for Phil will be private per his wishes.
