Obituary of Mildred Rose Marie Sisk

Mildred Rose Marie Sisk, 88, passed away surrounded by her family on Sunday, February 25, 2024 in Libertyville, Illinois

Mildred was born June 26, 1935 in North Chicago, Illinois to Peter Sikich and Mary Serdar. She worked as a Court Reporter for Lake County, Illinois.

Millie, the daughter of Croatian parents and middle daughter of nine and mother,  loved her family and friends through thick and thin and always had an open door for anyone who walked into her home.  She loved cooking for anyone; oh but stay out of her way until serving time.  She was a master at Croatian bread making.  Her favorite social spot was Louie’s in Waukegan and God forbid if you were in her seat.  So many stories to tell, she loved deep and strong as was her character.  She will be greatly missed by all the lives she touched in her 88 years of life, and will be loved and missed always.

Mildred is survived by her grandchildren, Shane, Zachary, Kali; Step-grandchild, Reed; Step-daughter, Marsha (Terry) Nolan; siblings, Joe Sikich, and Sharon Sikich and many dear extended family and close friends.

She is preceded in death by her son, Mark Sisk; step-sons, Herbert, Stephan, and Steven; parents, Peter and Mary Sikich; siblings, Pauline Miller, Mary Chambers, Zeke Sikich, Mike Sikich, Pete Sikich, John Sikich.

Memorial Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 6, 2024 at 9:00 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 9:30 a.m. at St. Paul the Apostle Church, 6401 Gages Lake Road, Gurnee, Illinois 60031. Inurnment will follow at Ascension Catholic Cemetery in Libertyville, Illinois.
