Obituary of Marie Christian

Marie A. Christian, 71, of Beach Park, Illinois died on Saturday, December 30, 2006 at Condell Hospital in Libertyville. Marie was born March 7, 1935 in Waukegan. She was a member of Gurnee Community Church and enjoyed the fellowship of the church. She had been employed as the Business Administrator for Zion-Benton Hospital (now Midwestern Regional Medical Center), and was also employed with both CEDOL and the University of Chicago Medical School. She and her late husband Dorsey M. Christian had also owned and operated Christian Fabricators of Waukegan for 25 years. She loved animals, music, dancing and playing the organ. She also loved to crochet and play cards with the "girls". She had spent some time as a girl scout leader but mostly loved spending time with her family and especially her grandchildren. Marie was a loving wife, devoted daughter and mother and was a special grandmother and great-grandmother. She will be forever missed but never forgotten. Her kind and beautiful spirit will always remain with her family and friends. Survivors include her children Linda Christian, Judy (John) Norris and Michael Christian; grandchildren Scott (Christina) Meyers, Mark A. Christian, and Michael A. Christian; her great-grandson Dakota Meyers; her mother Mary Sanzone; her brother Michael Sanzone; many special nieces and nephews; and many beloved friends and relatives. She was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Dorsey M. Christian; her father Antonino Sanzone; and one sister-in-law Judith A. Sanzone. A memorial service to celebrate Marie's life will be held on Saturday, January 13, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. at Gurnee Community Church, 4555 Old Grand Avenue, Gurnee, Illinois with Pastor Chris Stephens officiating.
