Obituary of Ina Read

Ina Blake Read, 78, of Zion, IL died on Wednesday, November 16, 2011 at her home. She was born March 31, 1934 in Guntown, MS, grew up in Baldwyn, MS and moved to Zion in 1955. She was a member of Christian Assembly of God Church of Zion. Survivors include her two children, Freddy (Barbara) Read of Gurnee, IL and Aileen Norkus of Kenosha, WI; grandchildren Chad, Kristy, and Kelly Read, Vanessa (Mike) Dippel, Jacqueline Dziekan, and Shane (Candyce) Norkus; great-grandchildren J.D. and Zach Read, Abby and Jacob Norkus, Alexis Dziekan, Gavin and Evan Casillas, Daniel Read, and Marissa Norkus; three brothers Paul (Jan) Darling of Trevor, WI, Joe Darling of Trevor, WI, and Cleaborn (Lurlene) Wells of Memphis, TN; and one aunt Mary Evelyn Lafrain of Memphis, TN. She was preceded in death by her husband Gordon "Skip" Read in 1993; and her father and mother George Wells and Mildred Wells Darling (nee Lafrain) (and the late George Maxwell "Mack" Darling). A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 19, 2011, at 3:00 p.m. at the CONGDON FUNERAL HOME, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion, IL with Pastor Ken Fielding officiating. Visitation will be Saturday from 2:00 p.m. until time of services. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Christian Assembly of God Church Food Pantry, 2929 Bethel Blvd, Zion, IL 60099 have been suggested.
