Obituary of Diana Ulrich

Diana Ulrich of Wadsworth, Illinois, passed away January 22, 2024 in Waukegan, IL. She was born November 2, 1937 in Waukegan, IL to Paul and Mathilda Trnovec.

Diana married Donn “Buzzy” Ulrich on September 3, 1960 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Waukegan. Diana attended Northwestern University and College of Lake County. She was a devout member of Immanuel Lutheran Church for 63 years. She also worked as a legal secretary.

Diana was a member of the Ladies Aid Society at Immanuel Lutheran Church where she was the president at the time of her passing. She was an avid reader and enjoyed crossword puzzles and traveling the world. She taught english as a second language to students and was a reading tutor for adult education.

Diana is survived by her children, Andrea (Jay) Tucker and Sandra (Curt) Buetow; grandchildren, Joel (Lindsey) Tucker, Jessica (Dave) Schauer, Alex (Emily) Buetow, Hannah (Ryan) Ferguson and Eric (Crystal) Buetow; sixteen great-grandchildren; brother, William Trnovec; and sister-in-law, Sissy (Art) Castillo.

Diana is preceded in death by her parents, Mathilda (Cerk) Trnovec and Paul Trnovec Jr.; husband, Donn “Buzzy” Ulrich; great grandsons, Grant and Nolan Tucker and niece, Marcia Stone.

A memorial service will take place Saturday. January 27, 2024 at 1:00 pm at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1310 North Frolic Avenue, Waukegan, IL 60085.
