Dear Aunt Kate, Debbie and Jim, I wish I could be there with you, but time and distance prevent. I am so sorry about Uncle John, but I remember how distressed I was when I lost my own Dad two years ago at the same age. My consolation was that he had lived a long and productive life, just as Uncle John. I always thought that Uncle John was truly amazing. He was passionate about his golf game, and his abilities on the slopes intimidated much younger people who wouldn't even attemt to stand erect on skis...like me! Bob sent me the letter that he e-mailed Debbie, and it brought back a lot of memories. I came into Uncle John's life when he was working at Warwick. I remember his deep interest in everyone and everything about him. His great sense of humor and wide grin always made me laugh. I can still remember him teasing Grandma Robinson, and the legendary look that she shot him. He was full of love and life, and I did not see him often enough. To me, he was ageless; he never looked older to me. Bob's letter brought back a lot of memories of a time when everything was simpler and sweeter, and dads were all like my Dad and Uncle John; returning war heroes who built homes and their lives around their families, and showed how much they loved them by working hard. They will always be with us, until the one day when we can embrace them again. All my Love, Barbara

We have known John both in the Navy League and as a member of the Zion Exchange Club. When we resided in Zion, we used the Zion Park District facilities which he helped to start. He will be missed by our family and the greater community which he served
