Obituary of Travis E. Newborn

Travis E. Newborn, 98, of Waukegan, Illinois, passed away December 8, 2023. He was born September 16, 1925 in Booneville, Mississippi.

Travis moved to waukegan in 1953 with his family. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Winthrop Harbor, Illinois. Travis retired in 1990 from the bricklayer union local #20 of Waukegan, Illinois. He served his country in World War 2  with the United States Navy.

Travis is survived by his children, Kelly (Cheryle) Newborn, Danny (Louanne), Michael, Carole (Steve) Rogers, and Melissa (Brian) Pankiewicz; 16 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild.

Travis was proceeded in death by his wife Billie Newborn; sister, Nell Cartwright; and brother, Carlyce Newborn.

Monday December 18, 2023, a visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Congdon Funeral Home 3012 Sheridan road, Zion Illinois 60099. Tuesday a funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. at Congdon Funeral Home.
