Obituary of Jonell Kathryn Knodel

Jonell “Nelly” Knodel, 52, of Kenosha, WI gained her forever wings November 21, 2023 at Serenity Home nursing facility in  Kenosha, WI. Jonell was born June 14, 1971 in Waukegan, IL.

She also resided in Beach Park, IL and Zion, IL. She was the “It” girl. Avid rock and roll girlie, and what some would refer to as a model. Jonell had a very warm embrace about her, a light that could fill up any room. Jonell was a very active mother to her 2 daughters. Jonell fully supported and uplifted her daughters even when Huntington’s Disease got the best of her. Jonell enjoyed waitressing and serving pies with a smile at Baker’s Square where she spent most of her career, a hobby that turned into a salary. Jonell loved her drop top convertibles and taking whoever she could on a spin, singing their hearts out to anything 80s. Jonell was a force to be reckoned with.

Jonell’s spirit will forever live long through her husband Patrick Knodel; her 2 daughters Kaitlyn (22) ,  Kylie (16) , her fur baby Amber, her brother Greg Lavris and his partner Darrick .

She was preceded in death by her mother and father Phyllis and Jon Lavris and her sister Christine Knabel. 

Visitation will take place Tuesday, Novemeber 28, 2023 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at the Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion, Illinois.
