Obituary of Charles Groblewski
An amazing Pa, father, husband, brother, and uncle, Charles Arthur Groblewski, of Winthrop Harbor, Illinois, died on November 10, 2023.
Chuck was born in 1958, in Waukegan to Julie and Mitchell. Growing up, he developed a strong work ethic surrounded by his family while working at Ratajacks. While attending college, he met the love of his life. As their love grew, Chuck and Paula came home nearly every weekend spending time with their families and eating at Quonset. Excited to start their new lives together, the two married and built their first home across the street from Paula’s parents. Soon their home was filled with boys and weekends were spent boating. As their children grew and began their own families, Chuck relished his favorite role, Pa. Weekends were devoted to family time. Fridays were spent at one son’s home playing with his boys, Saturday brought Chuck and Paula to another son’s for swimming lessons and quality time, and Sunday was the day to spend with still another son. He enjoyed patio time, tennis and golf, yelling at the Chicago Blackhawks, Cubs and Bears, and perhaps his greatest hobby, cleaning. Chuck loved traveling Up North with family and with Paula and friends to spend time in the sun. He was proud to be a long time Snap-On employee.
He is survived by his loving wife Paula; sons, Adam (Kara), Todd (Lauren), and Josh; grandchildren, Ross, Jack, Lily, Luke, Liam, and Rose; sister Debby; In-laws, Putz (John) and Nana (Roselyn); brother and sister-in-laws, Laura (Brad), John (Jodi), Julie (Mike), Joe (Jen), and Jim (Jen); nephews and nieces Jonathan (Dani), Julia (Jonathan), Katie (John), and Michael (Niki); Paula’s sibling’s children who he affectionately called “Junior”; Nick (Grace), Matt, Brett (Liz), Ben, Johnny (Nicole), Kate, Allie, Lauren, Sarah, Emily, Joey, Kylie, Sydney, Jimmy, Brayden, Brody; great-nephews and nieces, Lily, Bryce, Blake, Madeline, Mitchell, Necie, Liddy, Emmett, and Otto; cousins and great friends, Tommy, Denise, Dustin and Mike.
Chuck was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Rick, and brother in law Kevin.
Chuck’s legacy will live on in each of the hearts of those who loved him fiercely.
