I'm so sorry for your loss. I recall seeing Marty around town, especially at the pool in Zion. She always had a smile.

Sue,
My deepest condolences to you and all your family.
Ms.Berry taught me and my brothers and sisters swimming lessons at the Shiloh pool in the 60s
Her instructions saved my life June 9th 1990
During a boating accident in Lake Michigan.
At that time I heared her voice telling me how to float on my back with very little effort. Hypothermia was talking over fast.
I did this and was rescued by Chuck Pushy senior who was fishing that day with his family. At this time my children ages were
2,6,8,and9
My family will always be great full .

Mrs. Berry was a kind hearted, loving soul who always welcomed young folks into her home. She had a bright smile that could light up the room and she always made a person feel welcome. She loved family and friends and education and I will always remember her gentle and loving nature.

I am so sorry to hear of Marty's passing. As a YMCA swimmer in my youth and now the parent for former YMCA swimmers, I appreciate the family she created and cherish the life-long friends that it inspired. Now as an IHSA official, I enjoyed seeing Marty on deck at the Zion meets, as recently as a couple of years ago for senior night. Sorry I will be out of town for the service, but I am keeping your family in my thoughts and prayers. - Patti (Baker) Flesher

Will be in prayer for your family as you gather together for the service and as you share your memories of your mom. Thankful for God's promises in the Bible. Philippians 3:20, "But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ, 21 who, by the power that enables him to bring everything under his control, will transform our lowly bodies so that they will be like his glorious body. and Revelation 22:14 “Blessed are those who do His commandments, that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter through the gates into the city." Love & Prayers, Terry / Kathy Printz
