Obituary of Lorna Dene Cook

Lorna Dene Cook, 84, of Montgomery, IL, passed away in her sleep on August 22, 2023. Lorna was born in Waukegan, IL to Edna (Borden) and Dean Cook of Zion, IL. She attended Zion schools through the 8th grade when she and her family moved to Naperville, IL, where she graduated high school in 1956. Lorna received her bachelor's degree from Aurora University in 1962. She then spent 26 years teaching 6th through 8th grade students in the Aurora area schools.

Lorna loved travel and photography. She also got great joy from collecting Boyd's Bears and dolls from the British royal wedding collections.

Lorna is survived by her cousins, Darwin (Marilyn) Borden,Bonita (Borden) Kiester, Barbara (Borden) Chase, Delores (Borden) Whiteside, as well as other cousins of the Cook family.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

A private burial will be held at Northshore Garden of Memories in North Chicago at a later date.
