Obituary of Dawn Kay Mitchell

Dawn Kay Mitchell, 61, of Zion, Illinois passed away surrounded by her family on September 18, 2023 in Waukegan, Illinois. She was born on September 19, 1961 in Waukegan, Illinois the daughter of Morris, and Iris (Kimber) Quick. She graduated from Waukegan East High school, and worked at Grand Laundromat from 1981-2003 until she decided to stay home to care for her children and family. She married her husband Timothy Lee Mitchell on August 28, 1978.

Dawn had a loving and caring personality, her husband was her best friend and rock. That love continued on to her children,grand babies, pet dogs, and cats. She often rescued any animal she could. Florida and Wisconsin Dells were her two favorite places to visit and go on vacation. 

She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Timothy Mitchell; children, Ryan (Angelina) Mitchell, Andrew Mitchell, Stephanie (fiancé Scott Ruscheinsky) Kring, Melissa (Stephen) Kozlowski, Joshua (Megan) Mitchell; grandchildren, Aubree Kozlowski, Jacob Mitchell, Juliana Kring, Allison Kring, Colton Mitchell, Adelyn Kozlowski, Owen Kozlowski, Vincent Ruscheinsky; siblings Barbara (Pat) Joy, and Robert Quick; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. 

Dawn is preceded in death by her parents; and sister Kimberly Quick.

A Memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, October 14, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. followed by a memorial service, at The Well Church, 9001 17th Ave, Kenosha, Wisconsin 53143.
