I just found out about Ray’s passing, and will miss him dearly. We used to ride together, and enjoy fellowship over breakfast at the old KC’s Cabin.
We were supposed to meet there a couple of times in 2023, and it just never happened.
He always spoke highly of his family, and enjoyed being a GrandPa.
That’s me on the right with Ray and the gang outside of KC’s.

My sincere and heartfelt condolences to Ray's family and friends. As classmates in junior high and high school, Ray was a wonderful classmate and musician. I always looked forward to seeing him at reunions and hearing the band play. Thanks for the gifts you shared with us all Ray, may your memory be eternal.

I posted this on Facebook/PM&L Theater Members site:
I wanted to share info on the loss of a friend of PM&L, Raymond Trusky. He performed and participated in musical ways as he was a well-known drummer in Lake County. At PM&L, he was music director (and drummer) for "They're Playing Our Song" directed by Mark Badtke, and performed on stage in the barbershop quartet of School Board members in "Music Man" along with Mark and Tom Badtke and Fran Jansta. He spearheaded a mixed vocal group, Sound Showcase, including PM&L members, Mark and Donna Badtke, Tracy Kiederlen, Chris Heilgeist and Roz Ohlinger, who performed as entertainment at some PM&L events and other outside events. He also hosted some great Super Bowl parties back in the 80's/90's.
RIP, dear Ray!
One of the most enjoyable times in my life was working with Ray on Sound Showcase. As musicians (I'm a pianist), we both wished we had the opportunity to sing and not just be in the background playing our instruments. So we laid down some accompaniment tracks to perform to singing live -- we were not only the singers but the band as well! It was very fulfilling.
This morning I've played through a number of the songs we did looking for something to play for a postlude at church this Sunday. I will be using one called "Benediction" and I will be thinking of Ray as I play it to close Sunday's service.
My condolences to Sandy and all the Truskys (especially Julie).

As a member of the Class of 65, I knew Ray and will always remember him playing the drums during the Star Spangled Banner prior to WTHS home basketball games. The group of us that hung out together all had nicknames for each other and referred to Ray as “Heavy”. RIP Ray, RIP

I met Ray in June of 1975. When I joined the Scotch Lads as their bass player. I was honored to play wirh him for over 40 years. As part or the rhythm section the bass and drums are inseparable. Not only did Ray and I read each other's mind & hearts when we played we felt each other's soul! Its hard to explain but musicians understand. So Ray was not only a DEAR FRIEND but also soul mate so to speak. We enjoyed many memorable moments and good times together. The Scotch Lads were a very unique group our good close friendship came first and our music followed
He will be truly missed, and is in and will be in my daily prayers

I am so sorry for your loss of Raymond. My mother Joyce(Tillman) left for Heaven January 18, 2016 and on her behalf, I have fond memories from her in Waukegan High School speaking of Dale being in her home room period and band I believe. I have been attending the Grief Share group at Christ Community Church in Zion on Monday nights @ 7pm. The group is 13 weeks and continues on where most have a break. <GriefShare.org> May God's blessings be with the family through this time of loss. Andrea Smith

I’m so sorry to hear this very sad news. Ray was a good man and a kind soul. It was a pleasure to get to know Ray and Sandy better while we shared retirement in SWFL. May he rest in God’s Eternal Peace.
