Obituary of Brian Bell

Brian R. Bell of Beach Park, IL., went to be with his Lord and Savior passing away peacefully at home on Tuesday, August 29, 2023 after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on April, 3, 1957 in Waukegan, IL., to Robert and Dolores (Wilson) Bell.

 

Survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Janice (Koncan) Bell; parents, Robert and Dolores Bell; sisters, Pat (Roger) Claar, Marcia (Allan) Petrusky, Lisa (Gary) O’Brien; in-laws, Lorraine Koncan, Karen (Pete) DePerte, and Beth Campion (Andy Runyard). He will be missed by many nephews, nieces, extended family and friends.

 

Preceded in death by (grandpa) Leroy & (nana) Marguerite Wilson; and father-in-law Leo Koncan.

 

Brian worked for and then owned the family business for many years, Lake Shore Awning Company. As an avid race fan and driver, his favorite hobby became his livelihood, owning Bz’s Rods Car Shop. Brian also had a keen inventive ability and spent years developing, Promech Penetrating Oil. He enjoyed traveling the Caribbean and had a love for Michigan. He spent many summer vacations on the water in Rabbit Bay, Michigan with friends, boating, fishing, camping and hiking. He was a “Yooper” at heart and the UP will truly miss him. You could find him most weekends relaxing by the pool and barbequing. 

A private service will be held. He will be laid to rest at Mt Olivet Memorial Park, Zion, IL.
