Obituary of Brittni M Vaughn

Brittni M. Vaughn, 36, of Winthrop Harbor, Illinois, passed away suddenly on July 8, 2023.

Brittni was born on April 11, 1987 in Waukegan, Illinois. She graduated from Bradford High School and was employed at Snap On Tools in Kenosha, Wisconsin.

Brittni is survived by lifelong love Desmond R. Knuckles Sr.; children, Alexis M. Vaughn-Knuckles, Desmond R. Knucles Jr., Jamira Knuckles; mother, Kristi S. (Abron) Brooks and father, Michael G. (Evelyn) Vaughn; siblings, Brooke A. Vaughn, Michael “Austin” Vaughn, Myles (Kenya) Vaughn, and Ariah Vaughn; step-brothers Abron J. Brooks Jr. and Quinton Brooks; step-sister Brooke A. Parnell-Brooks; a host of god-brothers and god-sisters that were dearly loved by Brittni as her “own” brothers and sisters; grandparents, Wallace and Sharon Behrens; grandfather James A. Vaughn; god-parents, Jerome and Donna Cole; nieces, Ariane Vaughn, Ashtyn Vaughn, Alivia and Alessa Vaughn; nephews, Landyn and August Vaughn; aunts, Laura Boss, Angela Behens, Margo (Timothy) Vaughn Smith, Anita Vaughn, Rhonda G. (Perry) Chillus, Cindy Yelden; uncles, Michael (Nicole) Behrens, James Eric (Diane) Vaughn; several God nieces and nephews; several great-aunts and great-uncles along with several cousins; very special friends Jorena Mckinstry and Evelyn Kyser.

She was preceded in death by grandmother, Mattie M. Vaughn; great-grandparents Willard ( Bill) and Betty Harris; uncle Timothy A. Yelden; great-uncles, Michael W. Harris and Robert ( Rob) Harris; special person Cecilia (momma CeCe) Gaines and Craig Gaines.

Visitation will be held on Monday July 17, 2023 from 5:00 until 8:00p.m. at The Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion, IL. A funeral service will be held Tuesday July 18, 2023 at 10:00 a.m at the Congdon Funeral Home.
