I have beautiful memories of summers spent with Beverly's children, a few houses down from my grandparents (Charlotte and Lloyd Borden). I wish peace and meaningful memories to Beverly's children.

Bev and I became good friends the first time I met her. She already had many friends in our freshman year of high school. Bev had a way of making everyone feel as if they knew her all of their life. You could tell she loved people, and they loved her right back. It was privileged to be her friend for life. Bev was not afraid to venture out and do new things. I was not as adventurous, but we were making more and more new friends! We started going to all the games and sitting together. I have written a poem in my latest published book, Winning the Race, about our adventures in the "Wolfpack".
Beverly wolf, our leader fair,
was a true friend, she was always there,
To give advice or to help when needed,
Together in a group, we always succeeded.
A bunch of fun loving, pretty, girls in high school,
Who were young and innocent and obeyed the rule.
Attending all games in Lucille's car,
We thought we were the best by far!
Our colors were yellow and green,
We painted them on our saddle shoes to be seen!
Meeting at the bowling alley or the Dairy for a shake,
Getting the boys attention, what an impression we'd make!
We were the good girls that didn't give ourselves away,
They all knew that on Sunday we went to church to Pray!
When it came time to pick a girl for a lifetime mate,
The boys all hoped that one of these would be his fate!
In loving memory,
Donna Jasper

Bev was always so kind and welcoming to me throughout my years at Greenville College with Ken and Ron. A gracious and kind Christian lady.

Oh my sweet sweet Bev, how I will miss you so.
Thank you for welcoming me into your life and becoming my family. I will forever cherish the times we spent together and all the conversations we had. You were especially fond of my “Charlie chronicles” and joked about making a book of, my out of control dog. Lol.
Thank you for all the advice and words of wisdom that I needed to hear from time to time.
You were such a sweet soul with a pure heart. God definitely blessed me by giving me the privilege and honor of working at the Pitcher home. You were the family that I didn’t know I needed.
My heart aches to know that I didn’t get to say goodbye, but just know that I loved you with all my heart.
I will hold on to the last time I saw you and made you smile. (Picture above) That day was crazy and busy for me, but I needed to make sure to stop and drop off your birthday roses. A few days later I received your thank you card, which btw you made me cry, with words I will cherish forever…..
And like that day and every time I was about to leave your house, you would give me a hug, a kiss, and tell me “I love you dear” before thanking me for all I do for u…….
So right now I send you my final hug, kiss and “I love you too Bev” up to heaven as you enter heavens gate.
& from now on, when I see cardinals, I will know its you and Atwood together once again.
May you be at peace

Privileged to have been next-door neighbors and church family to "aunt Bev" who helped watch over the neighborhood kids. Her clever humor was classic and I will miss her.
