Obituary of Michael Cosgrove

Michael Ryan Cosgrove

Michael was born on August 1, 1996 to Tom and Geri Cosgrove in Evanston and passed away on Thursday, June 22, 2023.  He was preceeded in death by his maternal grandparents, Ted and Lucy Ebert, Uncle Rick Ebert, Uncle Chuck Cosgrove/Lohman and paternal grandfather, Thomas Cosgrove as well as some dear friends.

Michael attended Waukegan schools, enjoyed skateboarding, backyard pool parties,  and golf immensely.  He was an avid White Sox fan and enjoyed going to and watching them play with his family.  Michael had a heart of gold; willing to go above and beyond to assist anyone in need.  Michael had a vast number of friends and shared many experiences with them.

Michael was employed by Glen Flora Country Club as Bag Room Manager and thoroughly enjoyed his job interacting with all the members and co-workers. 

Michael is survived by his parents, Tom and Geri Cosgrove, sisters Katie Cosgrove and Kristi Cosgrove (Steve Hahnlein), and brother Aaron Cosgrove. Extended family members include Doug (Jane) Ebert, Ann (Brian) Cyr, Ellen (Dave) Lotz, Joe (Jill) Ebert and numerous cousins.  Also treasuring his memory  are paternal grandmother, Shirley Cosgrove, Peg (Todd) Mangun, Patricia Lohman, Tim (Marian) Cosgrove, Maryanne (Kevin) O'Connell, Phil (Darlene) Cosgrove,  Nancy (Ted) Caesar, Dan (Donna) Cosgrove, Jeff (Becky) Cosgrove, Janet (Tim) Rasplicka as well as many cousins.  Special rescued pets "Shadow" and "Flora" share this loss.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 29, 2023 from 4:00 until 8:00 pm at Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion.  Prayer Service on Friday, June 30, 2023 at 11 am at Congdon.
