Claudette and I enjoyed growing up together as brother and sister. We went on band trips together as she and her roommate, Miss Illinois, led the marching band as gold medal winning baton twirlers! She and I danced to Dick Clark’s American Bandstand tunes as I whirled her across the floor at the high school dances! We both won the costume contest at the Halloween Party. She a hula dancer-I a pumpkin head! We always got along and laughed a lot! She was a remarkable Mother-making incredible sacrifices to raise 3 sons, who, due to her fine example, became integrity-filled, good Christian men, 2 of whom are wonderful Fathers! She hosted us every year for a delicious Thanksgiving dinner, her home was decorated so beautifully and she made it such a loving family event. So loving and caring and supportive she was to my wife and I for our entire lives! She was a special Mother, Sister, Grandmother, and Friend. Adored her Grandchildren and was such a good example of decency and kindness to them! I will always love her and sorely miss her!
