Obituary of Hazel Marie Morse

Hazel Marie Morse, 73, of Winthrop Harbor, IL, passed away at home on June 1, 2023.

Hazel was born August 29, 1949 in Charleston, West Virginia.  She graduated from Zion-Benton Township High School and retired from Abbott Laboratories after 25 years as a pricing coordinator.  Hazel enjoyed playing cards, visiting casinos and playing slot machines, camping, gardening and reading.  She was an avid Bears fan and a cheerleader for her grandchildren's sporting events.

Hazel is survived by her daughter, Dana Morse; grandchildren, Alex (Excel) Morse, Carl Harris Jr., Christopher Harris, Tommie Jones IV, David A. Jones, Ciarra Harris, and Kaylee Geiss; great-grandchildren, Xander Morse, Roxy Morse and Lexie Morse; sister, Hannah (Kim) Evans; brother-in-law, Jack Palmer; dear friend who is like a sister, Diane Nord; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Gladys Williams ; husband, David Morse; daughter, Dawn Morse; and siblings, Hilda Palmer, Harvey Williams and Dean Williams.

A visitation will be held on Friday, June 9, 2023 from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. at the Congdon Funeral home, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion.  A funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.  Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Memorial Park, Zion.
