Obituary of Sandra Burroughs

Sandra F. Burroughs, 71, of Zion, Illinois passed away May 31, 2023 in Waukegan, Illinois. Sandra was born October 5, 1951 in Peoria, Illinois to parents Norman and Norma (Mann) Grant. 

Sandra married her husband George Owen Burroughs on January 25, 1975 in Pekin, Illinois.

Sandra was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend. She was a patient, kind, and loving woman who loved to bake, craft, read, and play Pokemon. Sandra had only one rule when it came to her grandchildren, you needed to give her a hug.

Sandra is survived by her husband George; children Melanie (Shawn) Miller, George Burroughs Jr., and Christa (Ernesto) Mendoza; 14 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; sisters Bonnie Grant and Terry Gillham; and brothers Ronnie and Glenn (Kathy) Grant. 

A Celebration of Life Ceremony will be held at The Sign of Dove Church, 424 10th Street, Waukegan, IL on Saturday, June 24th from 4:00 until 5:00 p.m.
