Obituary of Marcia Carnick

Marcia Carnick, 86, of Wadsworth, Illinois, passed away April 20, 2023, in Waukegan, Illinois. She was born May 31, 1936 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to parents John and Stella Lenda.

Marcia grew up in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, graduating from Casimir Pulaski High School. She later moved to Waukegan, Illinois. Marcia was a registered nurse. She attended St. Therese nursing school in Waukegan, Illinois before working at an allergists office in Waukegan for 35 years. 

She was a devout Catholic. She attended St. Patrick Catholic Church in Wadsworth, Illinois. She also enjoyed shopping, knitting, family and was a big Chicago Bears fan.

Marcia is survived by her children John (Jill) Carnick, JoAnne (Roger) Verne, and Tom (Denise) Carnick; Grandchildren, Eric (Fern) Carnick and Lauren (Matthew) Newquist, Jessica (David) Whitmore, Alyssa and Abigail Verne, and Catie and Allison Carnick; Great Grandchildren, Jack, Ellie, Claire, Tyler, Drew, and Cece; Nephews Joe (Lisa) Lenda and Gary (Jennifer) Lenda; and Niece Michelle Lenda.

She was preceded in death by her husband George Carnick; parents John and Stella Lenda; and brother Leonard Lenda.

A memorial visitation will be held Tuesday May 2, 2023 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m at St. Patrick Catholic Church, followed by a memorial mass at 11:00 a.m. at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 15000 W. Wadsworth Rd, Wadsworth, IL 60083. Inurnment will be private for the family.
